Carhartt Sierra Jacket

carhartt sierra jacket
I needed a warm, well made coat for the winters in North Florida. I know, I know...you say it doesn't get cold in North Florida. Well, it was 21 degrees the other morning! Anyways, on to the review.

I've always heard that Carhartt clothing was built to survive damn near anything and warm as well. After researching many coats with so-called 'techno' features I decided on the Sierra Jacket. I couldn't be more happy.

Even though the jacket is made in Mexico, Carhartt keeps their quality control in line. The stitching and seams are top-rate. The 'duck' material is very stiff and quite resistant to the elements. The two interior pockets are a nice feature. One pocket has a velcro closure and the other has a zipper. The interior of the jacket, as well as the hood are sherpa lined. Sherpa is a synthetic wool type material to keep in warmth. The jacket is very warm and quite comfy.

One feature that really impressed me is the size of the outer zipper pull. It's huge! You can pull the zipper up while wearing gloves. This is a very nice touch.

All-in-all this is a top-rate jacket. I like the dark brown color which should wear well and look better with age.
